What makes SEPA school special?

  • In San Isidro de El General, where our Spanish school is located, the people are very friendly and nice, and San Isidro is generally considered a much safer place than San José . The area is mostly Spanish speaking. Our school is located just 45 minutes from Dominical beach and is surrounded by places of ecological interest.

  • We offer programs for people of all ages and levels of fluency in Spanish.

  • Our Spanish classes are dynamic, teaching grammar while emphasizing conversation. We offer our students the possibility to practice even with a limited knowledge of Spanish. The students will take part in role-plays, conversation exercises and will use a homework book. Our approach is dynamic, creative, and effective and goes beyond basic textbook teachings. The Spanish classes are responsive to the needs of the students.

  • To assure individualized attention the Spanish classes are small, ranging from one to 4 students.

  • Our students may participate in voluntary programs as well as learn Spanish. At this time we are working on various development projects with the Bribripa Kaneblo indigenous community. Volunteers are welcome to participate in this community project.

  • All of our teachers are graduates of Costa Rican universities. They are bilingual with many years of experience teaching Spanish.

  • The students will receive a discount for a stay of two weeks or more and for groups of 5 or more.

  • We offer long-term Spanish classes for those interested in taking more than one month.

  • Also, we offer Spanish programs for students and professionals, in fields such as International Business and Political Science. Programs include basic Spanish and technical Spanish according to the interest of the students. We include lectures, videos, interviews and field exercises suited to each program.

  • Due to the increasing number of Spanish speaking people in the United States, as well as other countries, we now offer an exciting intensive medical program. This program is designed for nurses, physicians and students who are interested in learning medical terminology in Spanish, as well as cultural aspects of Costa Rica. This program is individualized for students at any level.

  • The students are placed according to their level and abilities with a written and oral test.  Also, their teacher will be evaluating them and the Spanish classes will be responsive to the needs of the Students.

  • Learning Spanish at SEPA School, students have the opportunity to exchange conversation with Costa Rican students studying English.

  • Students who are researching in Environmental Protection can interview some professionals in areas such as; Agriculture, Environmental Protection, National Parks of Costa Rica and others. If you are interested, please ask the coordinator of the program for one to be set up.

  • We can help students arrange their own trips in Costa Rica for weekends and at the end of the course.

  • At SEPA school, you will learn Spanish in an enjoyable and effective way while you immerse yourself in a Latin culture.

  • No advance payment necessary! No enrollment fee!
