Pelican Hotel Opinion.

        Pelican hotel is a mountain hotel, located at the foot of Mt. Chirripo'

It is surrounded by beautiful and large gardens...

This hotel has all necessary conditions to offer a pleasant stay, mainly due to the fact that many attractions of San Gerardo de Rivas can be enjoyed.

El Museo (the museum), and la exhibicion artesanal (craft exhibition) are located on its grounds, as well as a wide natural reserve with 5 hectares, which let the visitors walk and admire the species of birds, animals in general, and plants of this beautiful area.

And by the way, without leaving your cabin, you could see a little animal called "Cusinga."

It was the first time in my life, that I saw one of these, so close to me, and just in the hotel's garden. Then, talking to Omar Elizondo (The hotel's manager), he told us that it is normal to spot these animals. Also, armadillos, "pisotes", squirrels and many kinds of birds.

At the hotel, we also enjoyed the swimming pool. At first, we didn't want to get into the water. My wife was very cold because of the weather and the temperature; but as soon as we got in the pool, we felt better. I didn't ask, but I think the water was warm, I felt it warmer than I thought it would be, and we could enjoy the swimming pool Regarding food, our dishes were tasty and delicious. Dinner and breakfast were very good, but I loved breakfast ("Gallo pinto" with eggs and toast.)

An advantage of the hotel is that you can find information of the zone, using maps and tourist books.

Besides, Omar knows the area very well, and he is suggested different activities to do around the hotel, all the time. Activities like horseback riding to the waterfalls or the hot springs, trout fishing, and many other things.
