Where?: You will find places to camp on the beach in Dominical, Dominicalito, Playa Hermosa, Uvita, Chamán, Piñuelas, Drake Bay, Pavones, and Playa Zancudo.

You will find places to camp in the mountains in San Gerardo de Rivas (near Mount Chirripó), and in Corcovado National Park.

Prices: Anywhere from $7 up to $75. Some places offer packages with meals included as well as spacious, bug-free camping sites, which are sometimes preferred to a room in hot climates, as in the summertime in Puerto Jimenez.

The camping areas usually provide bathrooms and showers, as well as drinkable water. At almost all the Beaches you can camp for free, but if you prefer a private site with these services, you will pay around $5. This is a very affordable way to enjoy the scenic beauty of the beaches in an informal, relaxed atmosphere

For those who want to experience camping in the mountains, you can go to Mount Chirripó in San Gerardo of Rivas. Most hotels commonly provide camping areas with bathrooms, showers, and a pool. Also in Corcovado National Park or Puerto Jimenez, there are many hotels that have access to camping. Some even have raised wooden platforms where your tent will be protected from insects and animals
