Getting there: It is located about 30 km south of Dominical.

Available services: water, restrooms, and restaurant.

Hunting or the abuse or pursuit of wild animals such as garrobos, iguanas, birds, as well as fishing with poison is also prohibited. Bonfires are also restricted as much of the firewood is home to many creatures.

Playa Piñuelas is a beautiful and tranquil bay, and has received a Blue flag, or ecological flag. To obtain this reward, a beach must excel in cleanliness, security, and beauty and must offer basic services to the public. You can enjoy swimming or even camping, with water and restrooms available.

Playa Piñuelas is inside the boundaries of the Ballena National Park; therefore, to enter the park, a small contribution is requested for its maintenance, care and development. Industrial fishing, hunting, or extraction of any type of marine wildlife is prohibited.

The Ballena National Park is located at the outlet of the Higuerón River or Morete and Punta Piñuelas, district of Bahía Ballena. The park includes some 5,375 hectares of sea and 115 hectares of land. The park protects important habitat like sandy beaches, rocky beaches, mangroves, cliffs, islands, rocky reefs, the tide pools at Punta Uvita and the coral reefs, which all play an important role in the reproduction of marine life

You can enjoy swimming or even camping, with water and restrooms available.
