Marino Ballena National Park was established on February 6th, 1989. This was the first marine park in Latin America, with 110 hectares of land and 5.375 hectares of ocean, which was created to protect various coastal marine habitats, beaches, estuaries, mangroves, islands, coral reefs and also to protect the marine endangered species such as humpback whales have their babies on our shores.
