Mountain tour in San Gerardo Dota, Costa Rica

 
A paradise for nature lovers. San Gerardo de Dota is a tiny farming community located in the narrow valley of the Savegre River. Located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level.
 
This tour begins at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, lasts 3 hours.
 
The starting place is the Cerro de la Muerte, the third highest mountain in Costa Rica.
 
Its height 3491 m.s.n.m (10500 ft). From there one can see the Pacific coast, the Cerro Chirripo and Turrialba, Irazu, Barva and Poas volcanoes; in addition, the particular vegetation.
 
The sheer number and variety of plants, lichens and mosses to observe makes this really nice tour. This place is ideal for the Volcano Junco, an endemic bird found all year round habitat. All this together is what gives life to this forest called Paramo !!
