While in Savegre, you have the best chance to see this spectacular bird. The quetzal was consider by the Aztecs as the representation of Quetzalcoatl, the supreme god of their culture.
 
 
Centre Quetzal Education and Research
The Centre Quetzal Education and Research is a cooperation agreement between the Hotel and Nazare Southern University of Oklahoma, United States and seeks to protect biodiversity, promote the conservation and sustainability through research and study of the riches of the area and other regions
For this, we encourage the participation of students and researchers from Costa Rica and around the world. The QERC (for its acronym in English) works to integrate community residents in the various studies carried out so that by disseminating the results will educate people about the importance of conserving the environment.
