Los Campesinos Ecolodge in Quepos
Los Campesinos Ecolodge is a communal cooperative dedicated to Sustainable Rural Tourism, friendly to the environment, with more than 16 years of history. It is located in the town of Quebrada Arroyo, just 25 km at the east of the Manuel Antonio beaches and Puerto Quepos.
We have 33 hectares of primary and secondary forest, where a wide variety of tourist activities is developed and it is possible to enjoy them in couple, you’re your family, with a group of friends or students.
Our clear vision is to be a solid and competitive cooperative company, recognized nationally and internationally as an excellent option to enjoy Community Rural Tourism. This combines recreation with environmental protection, and the research of development, sustainability and a better life quality for its associates and all the community.

SERVICES
Lodging: In our comfortable rustic lodges, equipped for couples or groups (maximum 6 people per lodge), you will feel comfortable, safe and you will be able to rest, surrounded by nature and you will be awaking by the singing of numerous birds. Each lodge has a private bathroom, hot water, a fan, a desk and some of them have a balcony with a view on the forest.
Restaurant: Buffet style. We offer delicious dishes of traditional Costa Rican food, prepared in a wood-fired. We use local and organics products are used.
Transport: We offer private transportation service in 4x4 vehicles, from Uvita, Playa Hermosa, Dominical, Quepos or Manuel Antonio.
ACTIVITIES and TOURS
Entrance: This includes 100 to 600 meters of hiking trails, an access to the waterfalls, natural swimming pools and the 127 meters long and 40 meters high suspension bridge, plus parking service. The estimated walking time is 30 to 40 minutes, but you can stay as long as you want in the pools and the facilities. It does not require the company of a guide.
Tour to the mill: visit of the property of Víctor Mora. You will learn a lot about the extraction of sugar cane juice and you will have the pleasure of tasting its particular and unique flavor. Also you will learn about its uses and its importance.
Grill and traditional mill: visit of the property of Víctor Mora. You will know how to extract the sugar cane juice and you will have the pleasure of tasting it. Also, you will learn a lot about the peasant way of preparing a delicious grilled meat that will be accompanied with Organic products produced on the same farm.

Quebrada Arroyo community Tour: This is where Los Campesinos Ecolodge is located. You will know the number of people who live here, the interesting site of the village and its history. This is combined with rural Tourism activities. Also you will visit the village viewpoint, where you can appreciate the Pacific Ocean, the villages around the Savegre River.
Horse-riding: This is a recreational tour, where you will meet a part of the Quebrada Arroyo community, you will discover the interesting sites of the village and the village viewpoint which as a spectacular panorama of the Pacific Ocean and the Savegre River (one of the most Clean of Central America). You will cross this river on suspension bridges that link the villages of Quebrada Arroyo and Santo Domingo (which is at the end of the road).

Organic garden Tour: You will learn the process of how the organic fertilizer that is made. It is used for the cultivation of some of the products for the community families. They are also used in the restaurant.

Farm Visit: You will walk from the lodge to the farm (approximate time of walking: 30 minutes; you can also travel with your car or request a transport service. On your arrival the guide will show you some of the main medicinal plants of the area. You will enjoy the view of an imposing waterfall in front of the property you will extract and taste the sugar cane juice and also you will visit a refreshing natural pool before your return to the Lodge.
Hike, Waterfall “Las Horquetas”: Hike 2 km through the forest with our local guides where you will find various insects, birds and plants. You will walk in the shade of giant trees that will accompany you during the tour. Our guide will share you his knowledge’s about each species found during the walk. On your arriving you will observe the beautiful waterfall “Las Horquetas”, on the way back to the lodge, you will pass by the bridge "Mesedor" that will provide a very pleasant and fun experience.

The Pacific viewpoint hike: It is a 3,600-meter trail through the primary and secondary forest. You will be accompanied by a local guide with ample knowledge. During the trail you will cross over a canyon. In addition you will arrive at the top of the mountain with a viewpoint on the Pacific Ocean. The viewpoint is built with wooden poles to provide a better view and allow you to appreciate beautiful panoramas of the Savegre River, the villages around and the beaches of the south Of Manuel Antonio. During the trail you will see a variety of species of flora and fauna, (mostly birds).

Vanilla Tour: through this tour, you will be able to know the best profitability commercial product which as favored the development of the community in its beginnings and it is the reason why the inhabitants abandoned their cultivation and launched themselves started in the tourism industry. In addition you will learn about its important uses in gastronomy.
Rappel Tour: This is an adventurous activity with five sections, which include rock walls, free fall and waterfalls. It is secured by ropes and harnesses which increasing the level of adrenaline in each section until the end which is materialized by a 40 meters high waterfall. Our experimented guides will provide you with the necessary equipment and directions.
