San Gerardo de Dota is the place that provides excellent conditions for bird watching. It is the only destination of Costa Rica mentioned in the book "50 birding before you die".

This tour has a duration of 2 or 4 hours, starts at 9:00 am or 3:00 om in the San Gerardo Valley.
 
The tour features a walk through trails in different areas of the valley in order to wath as many birds as possible.
 
This beautiful valley is very appealing for ornithologists due to the great amount of birds living there, there are approximately 150 species of birds, of which around 25% are endemic
