The Eco-Tourism Tour is an all-inclusive tour., specifically
designed for those who love nature, and who wish to have the most contact with
ecology and bio diversity. For those people, we have planned a complete tour
which will maximize your opportunity to get to know the biodivesity of Costa
Rica.

The best destination for the Eco-Tourism Tour is the southern
zone of Costa Rica, because this is where we have the most biodiversity, due
to the large number of protected zones which are found here. That's why we will
begin our eco-tourism tour in the middle of the mountains in the Nuboso Forest,
located in San Gerardo de Dota:
Days 1 and 2:
Eco-Tourism and Bird Watching:
A region which is ideal for eco-tourism is San Gerardo de Dota, where you will
enjoy one night in a mountain hotel, followed the next morning by a ecotouristic
nature hike along paths in order to observe the Quetzal, which is one of the
most beautiful birds of the region. Other eco-touristic activities available
to you are:
Horseback riding tours to the waterfalls, and trout fishing.
The 2nd night will also be spent at the same mountain hotel in San Gerardo de
Dota.

Days 2 and 3:
Ecotourism and a bird and animal watching tour in the humid, tropical
rain forest:
On the 2nd day, during the early afternoon hours, we will pick you up in San
Gerardo de Dota, and take you to the coast. There you will be able to enjoy
another exciting eco-touristic adventure right in the middle of a zone of incredible
biodiversity. We will arrive at the coast right before sundown, and we will
all enjoy the beautiful setting of the sun.
After
that, you will be taken to the Eco-Hotel, where you will also be able to enjoy
a wonderful welcome dinner.
The next day, the Ecotourism tour begins, where you will be able to observe
the wildlife of the area. We will begin the tour at 6am. The ecotourism tour
will introduce you to many paths in a zone of secondary forest. The tour will
also allow you to do a little bird watching. The tour is led by a specialized
guide. To end the ecotourism tour, we will prepare for you a typical Costa Rican
breakfast, consisting of rice, beans, eggs, plantains, home-made tortillas,
fruit, coffee, and soft drinks. The Ecotourism tours lasts 3 hours; from 6 am
until 9 am.

Eco-tourism and Horseback Riding:
An Eco-tourism tour would not be complete without horseback riding. Because
of that, we will give our guests the option of where they would like the horseback
riding tour to take them. It's important to make your reservation at least a
day in advance for the Eco-tourism and horseback riding tours.
The Eco-tourism and horseback riding tours have 2 options available: a trip
to the mountains, or a trip to the Morete river. During the trip to the mountains,
the guide will explain the flora and fauna found in the area. What's more, you
will visit places of incredible scenic beauty, as well as panoramic views. For
the trip to the Morete river, we will pass through the village of San Josecito,
where you will see many lovely spots. Whats more, our guests will learn a little
about the history of this small village. Arriving at the Moet river, you will
have the chance to do some swimming if you wish to. A specialized guide with
be with you at all times. Both options (to the mountains or the river) last
around 3 hours.
Ecotourism Tour to the Natural Pools:
One of the most memorable parts of an eco-touristic tour are the rivers, which
are crystal clear, clean, and have a very comfortable temperature.
This zone of Costa Rica has several natural pools with a wide range of depths;
from half a meter up to 6 meters. Our guests will be able to cool off in these
natural pools after any of the tours, if they so desire. A specialized guide
will be happy to accompany you to the pools.

Day 4:
Eco-tourism and Rappelling Tour Through the Forest Canopy:
The equilibrium of the eco-system of Costa Rica depends greatly on what happens
in the forest canopy. Because of this, we have planned for you a didactic tour,
where you will be able to explore the forest's canopy in search of animals,
birds, and plants which develop at different heights.
This tour is ideal for all of you "eco-tourists". We know that you
will not be disappointed!
Day 5:
Eco-tourism and the Whale and Dolphin Observation Tour:
Eco-tourism also implies the knowledge of sea creatures, and more specifically:
dolphins and whales. This is a tour that starts out in the peaceful waters of
the Pacific, where you will share time with the dolphins and whales who are
visiting the region.
The Humpback whale can reach a length of between 16-17 meters, and can weigh
between 24-48 tons. When the whale jumps out of the water, it's tail throws
off an impressive amount of water vapor as it slaps the surface of the sea.
No other whale is so playful in the water as the Humpback whale.
If the captain of the boat deems it to be appropriate, he will allow you to
get out of the boat, swim around awhile, and listen to the songs of the whales,
as if you were right there with them!
The Bottle-Nose dolphin is around 1.75 meters in length, and weighs between
150-650 kilos. The male Bottle-Nose is larger than the female. Their body is
long and robust, dark gray or dark blue in color, and has gray along it's flanks.
As in other dolphins, the Bottle-Nose loves to swim and leap in the wake of
boats. The types of dolphins seen in this zone are: the Bottle-Nose dolphin,
the Spotted dolphin, and the Spinner dolphin, and usually travel in groups of
12 or more. and normally travels in groups of 12 or more.
So come and enjoy one of our Eco-tourism tours, and live an incredible adventure
of didactic exploration of the ecology and biodiversity in this zone of southern
Costa Rica!
